Yoga Paddlnic for Women
A 3-part experience

Chakras, is a yoga term defined as seven centers of spiritual energy in the human body.
Split into 3 separate sessions, explore these interactively through yoga, meditation,
the river, and theme-vegetarian lunch.

June 17 The first 3 chakras (the root, the sacral, and the solar plexus)
Paddle the "root" of the Battenkill ( Arlington VT- NYS)
July 15
The Heart Chakra
Paddle the "heart" of the Battenkill- the Eldridge Swamp section

Aug 19
The last 3 chakras: (The throat, the eye, and the crown)
Paddle the south to north section of the river- Shushan to Salem

Hours: 9 AM-1 PM (or longer if the group can)

Battenkill Conservancy's Fathers Day Paddle

Bugs, a day out with Dad, picnic on a sand bar, and a great cause

Join J. Kelly Nolan, aquatic bug taxonomist, as he guides you through the Battenkill,
stopping at tributaries and testing the waters for the aquatic life.
Kelly explains the conditions, as you peer through microscopes, and learn
about the health of these confluence's, and the benefits of these insects

Pack a picnic lunch
This is a fund-raiser for the Battenkill Conservancy, a not-for-profit river conservation group
All money is tax-deductible.
$50 for one person, $75.00 a couple, and $100 for a family of 3 or more.
Canoes or kayaks provided by Battenkill Valley Outdoors, if necessary

 


WOMEN'S BICYCLE RETREAT
For women of all ages, and women with their teenage daughters

June 26-37
Sat 11:00 AM- Sun 2:00 PM

Jules Harrell, of Cherry Plain, and her teenage daughter, Reesa, team up to
bring an inspiring weekend of bicycle and body tune-up and maintenance !
Eat healthy, nourishing foods, connect with other women, take simple rides into the countryside,
dip into the Battenkill, simple yoga, journaling,... a weekend to indulge.

Jules wrote & published, The Woman's Bike Book", newly on the stands. Each participant will receive their own copy.

"She's worked many years in bike shops and knows her way around wrenches. Her attitude is what gives her a great entre' into all the various outdoor sports that she's involved with. She's gung-ho and willing to make mistakes. She's not afraid to mix it up with the guys. Held on the spacious grounds of the Long Lodge at Battenkill Valley Outdoors.

Cultivating river stewards one kid at a time
Open to ages 7-18, parent or legal guardian must be present
A fun, educational experience, learning, looking, and collecting trash along the way

July 7-9 & July 12
10-3 PM each day
BYO Lunch

Day 1 & 2- Kayak lessons on flat and moving water. Learn skills of safety, and responsibility
Day 3- A float trip with J. Kelly Nolan. Learn to identify the bugs which live on the river bottom
and why it is a good thing they are there.
Day 4 A field trip to put it all together- paddling, observing bugs, and collecting trash along the way.

$350 per kid - parents / legal guardian no extra charge

Optional Family Season Pass for PB&J graduates
Continue the experience of paddling, looking for bugs and collecting trash on your own time.
As a PB & J graduate, you can add on a family seasonal rental, no charge to parents
however, parents or legal guardians must be present during all activities.

$150.00 / Kid for Family Seasonal rental

Grants for this program may be available to kids of deployed National Guard, Reserves parents, or children of Wounded Warriors currently receiving treatment. This program qualifies. To see about eligibility and to learn how to apply, go to http://ourmilitarykids.org.
